New cruise ship AIDAcosma arrives in Hamburg for the first time
On February 25, 2022, the new cruise ship AIDAcosma will call at Hamburg for the first time at around 4 pm. It is the company's second newbuilding to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) - currently the lowest-emission fossil fuel in the shipping industry. Before AIDAcosma moors at the Steinwerder cruise terminal, there will be a very special sister ship meeting on the Elbe: AIDAprima, which is on its way down the Elbe toward Rotterdam, is expected to greet the new fleet member at Teufelsbrück.
Captain Tommy Möller is looking forward to the first call: "For me as captain, it is a special honor to be able to call at the Port of Hamburg with the newest LNG ship in our fleet. With AIDAcosma, we are bringing many innovations and, of course, many wonderful vacation experiences to Hamburg for our guests."

The first guests will set sail on the new ship at 6 pm on February 26, 2022. From Hamburg, the ship will sail to Southampton and on to Cherbourg in France. Further stops are Zeebrugge and Rotterdam before the ship moors again in Hamburg on March 5.
AIDAcosma will visit the Hanseatic city a total of seven times. The highlight will be the christening ceremony on April 9, 2022, when the exceptional athlete Kristina Vogel will ceremoniously christen the new ship in Hamburg. Guests on the 14-day christening voyage from April 9 to 23, 2022, from Hamburg to Palma can experience this special event on board. Among other places, southern England, Lisbon, Málaga and Barcelona invite guests to discovery tours ashore.
From April 23 to October 15, 2022, AIDAcosma will offer voyages from Palma and Barcelona. The one-week highlight itinerary "Mediterranean Treasures" also includes Florence, Rome and Corsica. In the fall, she sets course for her sunny winter home of Dubai.
Guests can expect a variety of vacation experiences on board. One of the highlights is the Ocean Deck. This beautiful new area extends over four decks and offers an all-round panoramic view of the sea. The extensive sunbathing area invites you to sunbathe and chill out during the day and in the evening. For cooling off, there is a large infinity pool at the stern of the ship. Guests young and old get their money's worth on board - whether on the bouldering wall, on the racer, climbing the rope towers or on the balance course. The new Fun Park with its large indoor playground offers plenty of variety. The gourmet variety is also enriched: In the Beach House Restaurant summery-light delicacies come to the table. The specialty restaurant Mamma Mia is also new and offers homemade pasta and fresh Italian cuisine with on-site service. The Brewhouse gets an outdoor grill with a gorgeous ocean view.
