AIDA Cruises operates one of the world’s most state-of-the-art fleets, currently comprised of 13 cruise ships, including the brand’s newest LNG-ship AIDAcosma, which was delivered in December 2021. Featuring Carnival Corporation’s “green cruising” design with dual-fuel engines, AIDAcosma is a sister ship of AIDAnova, the first cruise ship in the world that is since 2018 powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) both in port and at sea. The use of LNG, the world’s cleanest burning fossil fuel, prevents emissions of particulate matter and sulfur oxides almost entirely at sea and in port.
