CARNIVAL CORPORATION & PLC ANNOUNCES KIRK LANTERMAN’S DEPARTURE FROM THE EXECUTIVE BOARD

MIAMI - (February 9, 2007) - Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE: CCL; LSE) (NYSE: CUK) announced today that, in accordance with its corporate governance guidelines, A. Kirk Lanterman, a member of its boards of directors, has not been nominated for re-election to the boards of directors, as he has reached the age of 75. Therefore, he will step down from the board of directors following the next annual meetings of shareholders scheduled to be held on April 16, 2007.

Lanterman has been a member of Carnival Corporation's board of directors since April 1992 and a member of the directors of Carnival plc since April 2003. He has served as a non-executive chairman of the board of Holland America Line Inc., a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, since December 2004. Prior to that, he served as chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Holland America Line Inc from August 1999 until November 2003. He continued as Holland America's chairman of the board and chief executive office until until November 2004.
