Carnival Corporation Named One of Europe’s Diversity Leaders for 2025
World's largest cruise company honoured on Financial Times’ annual list of top-rated companies in Europe for inclusion and equality policies
MIAMI & SOUTHAMPTON, ENGLAND (Nov. 7, 2024) – Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world's largest cruise company, was named one of Europe’s 2025 Diversity Leaders by Financial Times, a leader in global business and economic news. Of the top 850 companies recognised, Carnival Corporation was the only cruise-specific company named to the list of European employers who demonstrate leadership in diversity and inclusion.
Presented by Financial Times and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, the 2025 Diversity Leaders list was determined through an independent survey of more than 100,000 employees across 16 European countries. Participants were asked to rank their employers’ promotion of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across several topics including age, gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation. In addition to the survey, a company’s final score was determined by its share of women in management positions and communications made in favour of diversity, as well as an external evaluation based on online research and public diversity data. Around 15,000 companies from all industry sectors were included in the final analysis, with only the top 850 recognised on this year’s list.
“As a global company, we are focused on cultivating a workforce that mirrors the diversity of the communities we visit,” said Paul Ludlow, president of Carnival UK and P&O Cruises. “We believe in celebrating our diversity and fostering an environment where people from different backgrounds, experiences and all walks of life can succeed, and it’s an honour to be recognised among our peers who share the same values.”
The recognition as a diversity leader builds on a series of awards that Carnival Corporation has earned for its companywide operations and commitment to employment excellence and diversity, equity and inclusion. This includes a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index, designating the company as an Equality 100 Award: Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion recipient for the seventh consecutive year. In addition, the company’s Women Officer Network was recently recognised by the Seatrade Cruise Awards for Investment in People for the programme’s significant contributions to employee recruitment, training, advancement, diversity and inclusion and well-being initiatives.
This latest recognition from Financial Times underscores Carnival Corporation's commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for its team members and guests that champions the diversity of gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, culture, beliefs and other backgrounds. The company’s success is a direct result of its over 160,000 team members who are at the heart of delivering unforgettable happiness to millions of guests by providing extraordinary cruise vacations, while honoring the integrity of every ocean sailed, place visited and life touched.
