AIDA Premiere in the Dominican Republic: AIDAvita docks for first time at new Amber Cove cruise terminal
On December 11, 2015, AIDAvita
was the first ship in the AIDA fleet to dock at the new Amber Cove cruise
terminal in the Dominican Republic.
The Carnival Group celebrated the
Amber Cove cruise port on November 2, 2015, with a grand opening ceremony. This
two-berth port is nestled in a picturesque Caribbean cove on the Dominican
Republic's northern coast. From here, guests from eight of the Carnival Group's
brands, including AIDA Cruises, will be able to set out on unforgettable
voyages along the Amber Coast to explore a wide variety of highlights around
the Puerto Plata region.
The northern Dominican Republic
is awakening from its slumber, becoming one of the Caribbean's most attractive
destinations thanks to its scenic landscape and cultural diversity. Unforgettable
shore excursion options and the ultimate vacation experience await guests of
AIDA Cruises. Puerto Plata is brimming with charming historic Colonial
architecture and a Caribbean zest for life. The northern part of the island is awash
in luscious green from the tobacco and sugar cane plantations, and beaches such

docking again in Amber Cove on March 4, 2016, and March 3, 2017. AIDAluna will
be celebrating its premiere in Amber Cove on November 2, 2016.
